DUBOIS – A DuBois man is facing up to three years in state prison for a firearms burglary in late February.
32-year-old DuBois resident, Rhett Donavan Eisman, pleaded guilty to burglary and theft by unlawful taking in connection to a February 21st incident.
In late February police received a call from a Sandy Township residence, the victim told officers that he and his father were gone for three hours in which time someone had entered the home and stole multiple firearms.
He showed police that someone had gone through their belongings and multiple missing firearms including a Remington flintlock long gun, some black powder, a Winchester rifle and a single-shot rifle style pellet gun, totaling $1,650 dollars.
At the time a neighbor noticed a suspicious vehicle, taking pictures of the silver Jeep.
The next day, police spotted the Jeep driving erratically with multiple long guns in the front and back of the vehicle.
After performing a traffic stop, Eisman and a woman in the vehicle were taken into custody and the Jeep was towed to the police impound lot.
Eisman admitted to police that he drove to the residence, went inside, and took the items.
He only provided police with the first names of the other two involved and said he would “take responsibility for the crime”.
He is now facing between one year and three years behind bars in state prison. Eisman’s attorney requested that he serve his sentence at Clearfield County Jail, where he’s been since February.
