DuBois Man Sentenced for Indecent Assault

SHARE NOW

CLEARFIELD – A 26-year-old DuBois man has been sentenced to a two month-to-one year jail term after pleading guilty to indecent assault.

According to court documents, Dakota Cupp was originally facing felony rape and sexual assault charges. Cupp allegedly admitted to forcing himself on the victim in an exchange of social media messages last August, and he apologized, claiming he was drunk at the time. DuBois City Police reported that Cupp attacked a woman in her bedroom after she had told him to leave.

While he was not determined to be a sexually-violent predator, the court ruled that Cupp must register with law enforcement under Megan’s Law, he must complete sex offender counseling, and he is no longer allowed to have contact with the victim.
