CLEARFIELD – A DuBois man has been sentenced to a three-to-six year state prison term for a DUI crash that injured his daughter.

According to court documents, 48-year-old Barry Altemus pleaded guilty this week to aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence of drugs. In the 2022 accident, Altemus’s daughter reportedly suffered a broken nose and a fractured foot. Blood tests at the time revealed that Altemus was driving under the influence of methamphetamine and three other drugs.

Prior to hearing his sentence, Altemus apologized to his family in court, and stated that he made a “terrible decision.”
