DuBois, PA – A DuBois man accused of injuring his 4-month-old child in 2018 has signed a guilty plea.
30-year-old Dean Sulin had been charged in October with three counts of aggravated assault of the little girl while she was in his care.
The 4-month-old had been taken to Penn Highlands DuBois in January 2018 with what’s known as “shaken baby syndrome” and was later flown to UPMC Pittsburgh for her nearly fatal injuries.
Clearfield County Children, Youth, and Family Services was alerted and contacted police.
Through investigation, police heard from family members such as the uncle and mother of the child that they had witnessed the abuse before.
Sulin is set to be sentenced within the next two months. It’s unclear why case took more than three years to reach this point in court.
