CLEARFIELD – A DuBois man will serve up to one year in the Clearfield County Jail following his guilty plea this week to charges of assaulting a woman, and fighting with police.

According to court documents, 29-year-old Dustin Notto was originally facing a trial on charges of strangulation, assault, and resisting arrest following an incident in Sandy Township in June.

DuBois City Police had accused Notto of pushing, hitting, and punching the victim several times before he tried to choke her. As Notto was being arrested, he allegedly pulled away, resisted and struggled, and then tried to jump off a porch.

In addition to a six month-to-one year jail sentence, Notto also received three years of probation, an order to have no contact with the victim, and and order to complete anger management counseling.
