CLEARFIELD – A 55-year-old DuBois man will serve up to five years in a state prison after he plead guilty this week to assault and reckless endangerment charges.
John Ward allegedly beat another man so badly that the victim suffered both a broken leg and a broken arm.
DuBois Police say the victim and Ward had been doing remodeling work together at a South Main Street residence in January 2022.
The two started fighting one evening following their work in the house, but Ward claims he “blacked out” and doesn’t remember what he did to the victim.
Ward admitted to police that he may have used a pipe or crowbar to hit the victim.
In addition to a 22-month to five-year jail sentence, Ward was also ordered to complete anger management counseling.
