DuBois Man Jailed, Charged with Theft

SHARE NOW

DUBOIS — A DuBois man has been charged with theft by deception for allegedly accepting more than $4,000 for a roofing and awning job he did not complete.

According to City of DuBois Police, 46-year-old Leonard Bloom Sr. provided a DuBois woman a quote of $6,000 for the repair of a metal roof and awning on her house. Bloom is accused of accepting up-front payments of $4,600 from the victim, but never doing any work.

A few months later, the woman demanded that Bloom return her advance payments.

Police say Bloom used the money for his own personal benefit, and gave the victim a false impression that he was going to complete the project.

Bloom is currently lodged in the Clearfield County Jail with bail set at $25,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 24th.
