DuBois Man Gets State Prison Sentence for Assault

DUBOIS – A DuBois man is going to spend up to five years in state prison after being accused of breaking into an ex-girlfriend’s home and assaulting her in February.

According to the police report on February 17th, 20 year-old Khalid Brockman, went into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment confronting her about other men, at which point he got aggressive.

The report states that he threw her to the ground, hit her in the head multiple times, smashed her phone, and told her not to scream or call police or else he would kill her.

He returned to the apartment later in the day with two others and continued to threaten the victim about contacting the authorities. The victim then left the residence, fleeing to a neighbor’s house.

Brockman was later taken into custody at the victim’s apartment.

He then called the victim multiple times while in county jail making demands that she drop the charges or else she would pay for putting him away and that she was making it up and it was a dream.

Brockman will now spend between one and five years in State Prison.
