Henderson Township, PA – A DuBois man sustained serious injuries and had to be flown to the hospital after a crash on Route 119 early Saturday morning.

State Police in Punxsutawney say 58-year-old John Sheets III from DuBois had been driving around 12:45 a.m. north on Route 119 in Henderson Township, near Stump Creek.

Sheets lost control of his vehicle on a turn and began to spin.

The driver’s side of his 1992 Dodge Stealth struck a parked car, a 2001 Chrysler Sebring that was parked on the shoulder of the road. That car then struck a utility pole, which broke.

Sheets’ vehicle partially rolled on top of the Chrysler.

Sheets was wearing his seat belt but had been wearing it improperly.

He sustained suspected serious injuries and was flown by STAT MedEvac to UPMC Altoona.
