DuBois man charged with strangulation and assault after attacking woman

DUBOIS – DuBois City Police have charged a man with strangulation, assault, and harassment for allegedly attacking a woman at a Morrison Street home.

According to the police report, 39-year-old William Butler of DuBois is accused of pushing, shoving, and hitting the victim numerous times, and then grabbing her by the neck and throat and choking her.

Police also say that a juvenile victim was locked out of the residence by Butler, and he had earlier threatened to hit her with a piece of wood containing metal screws.

Butler is currently free on $100,000 bail.

He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for next Friday.
