DuBois man charged in connection with Hyde assault, robbery

CLEARFIELD – A DuBois man has been arrested, and he is the fifth person charged in connection with an alleged robbery and assault in Hyde.

Clearfield Regional Police say 39-year-old John Irwin was taken into custody Monday, and he was arraigned on charges of robbery, conspiracy, and theft.

Irwin is alleged to have been involved with four others a month ago in attacking a man with baseball bats, and then stealing his car and all of his possessions.

Irwin’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for next Wednesday.

Others facing charges in the case are 35-year-old Taylor Wisor and 43-year-old Jason Sipe, both of Hyde; 34-year-old Paul Hoyt of Curwensville; and 46-year-old Bradley Maines of Woodland.

Maines, Sipe, Hoyt and Wisor were previously arraigned and housed in county jail.
