DuBois man caught with drugs, counterfeit cash, stolen firearm in Brookville


Brookville, PA – A DuBois man was found in Brookville with a large amount of marijuana, THC products, more than a thousand dollars of what police are calling drug trafficking funds, counterfeit $100 bills, and a stolen firearm.

The unnamed 33-year-old DuBois man was pulled over by Brookville Borough Police in a traffic stop for an equipment violation on Main Street in Brookville on May 24 around 2:10 p.m.

A drug detecting canine indicted a locked tool box in the truck may have contained a controlled substance and a search warrant was issued.

During the search, police seized 11 packages of marijuana, 51 packages of candies containing controlled substances, various waxes/pastes/butters containing Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), various drug trafficking equipment, over $1,080 in drug trafficking funds, counterfeit $100 bills, and a stolen firearm.

The man was arrested and placed in SCI Smithfield to await a preliminary hearing.

The Brookville Police Department urges parents and members of the public to be aware of controlled substances being disguised as everyday candy. Common lookalike candy containing controlled substances may include but aren’t limited to gummy bears, worms, and rings, bite-sized candy bars, and lip balms. These items often come in lookalike packaging as well.
