DuBois man arrested for high-speed chase while impaired

Sandy Township, PA – A DuBois man was arrested over the weekend for a high-speed chase while impaired.

State Police in DuBois say they attempted to pull over the unnamed 34-year-old DuBois man after watching him commit several traffic violations on Route 219 in Sandy Township early Saturday morning, just after 2 a.m.

The man fled at a high rate of speed from police, eventually stopping when he struck a mailbox on Sher De Lin Road.

When police apprehended him, they noticed signs of impairment and also found drug paraphernalia and a small amount of methamphetamine in his backpack.

Charges will be filed for fleeing and eluding police, driving while impaired, and drug possession.
