DuBois man arrested and charged with robbery, theft and assault

DUBOIS – A 21-year-old DuBois man was arrested early Saturday morning on charges of robbery, theft and assault.

State Police say David Smith is accused of attacking a 64-year-old male victim along Dutch Road in Brady Township.

Smith is alleged to have tackled the victim, punched him in the head, and stole his cell phone.

Smith then reportedly threw the phone to the ground and fired several shots at it from a semi-automatic pistol.

Smith is being held in the Clearfield County Jail on $50,000 bail.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 4th.
