DuBois Man Accused of Stealing Motorcycle During Police Evasion

DUBOIS – A man behind bars for an alleged robbery is now facing more theft charges.

On June 11th police were at a motorcycle repair shop looking for 59 year-old Richard Smeal for allegedly robbing a DuBois Burger King. While police did not find Smeal, it was noted a motorcycle was missing.  

When following another tip on Smeal’s location days later, the bike was found at a Clearfield residence. Smeal was found on the 18th of June and placed in the Clearfield County Jail where he allegedly admitted to both the robbery and the theft.

Now in addition to the previous robbery charges, Smeal is facing three felony theft charges for the alleged crime.

He has a preliminary hearing set for January 24th.
