DUBOIS – A DuBois Junior Little League team is being recognized for a recent World Series accomplishment.
This year the DuBois Junior Little League All Stars went all the way to the World Series, a feat only done three times in the leagues history, and the first time in 22 years.
We spoke to the League Manager Ardie Mccall and President Scott Frano, where they said the whole experience was surreal.
“They were excited to get there,“ explained Mccall. “I think it was overwhelming at first, it was overwhelming for me.”
“They were treated pretty much like gods there,” said Frano. “That’s easy to take whenever you’re sitting there with your buddies, but it also doesn’t happen every day. So when you get that kind of attention like that, and being in a World Series I’m sure gets to your stomach a little bit. But they fought hard and the whole time every game, it’s amazing”
Next year, most of the team will be moving forward into a new age bracket, however the managers believe they can once again beat out the competition.
The whole team was commended by the DuBois/Sandy Township Joint Board for their placement and recognized all involved with the accomplishment
