DuBois Lawmakers See Preliminary Waterfall Reconstruction Plan

DUBOIS – The DuBois City Council is reviewing a preliminary plan to repair the damaged waterfall area at the end of Liberty Boulevard.

Officials say the current plan would replace the stone structure without restoring water to the upper waterfall, with the stones stepped back more like stairs for added stability.

The ground up there is saturated,” explained Public Works Director Scott Farrell. “I know everybody wants it done, but we can’t do anything up there. When it dries out, or freezes.”

With an estimated cost of ten to fifteen-thousand dollars, Farrell tells us that once work begins he estimates the project to be completed in three weeks.
