DUBOIS – The annual DuBois Holiday Basketball Tournament was held over the weekend bringing in area school teams for a healthy competition.
The main varsity games had four teams competing for the championship title, DuBois Central Catholic, DuBois High School, Brookville, and Brockway.
We heard from DuBois’ Athletic Director and organizer of the Holiday Tournament, Dew Spicher, who explains how this tournament is meant to bring a community together.
“We’ve actually had a really good turnout all across the board,” explained Spicher. “JV, Varsity, and for every single game that we’ve had. Central Catholic school, their parents are here, Brookville, Brockway, and of course DuBois. So you can tell it means a lot to the families.”
The Consolation game pitted DuBois Central Catholic, who scored 54 points against Brockway with 21 points.
Brookville ended up winning the championship cup against DuBois 55 ro 53 in a last second buzzer beater.
