DUBOIS – Ten weeks into the new school year and the DuBois Area High School is finding its rhythm under new leadership.
Manny Barbazzeni, the new principal, has revamped the schedule including a longer flex period after fourth period and implemented over 20 student clubs.
Two new rules have sparked debate, cell phones being placed in holders in each classroom, and backpacks must be confined to lockers for student safety.
“It’s been a year, starting out with changes but it has transitioned very well,” explained Principal Barbazzeni. “And that goes in part to all the work that everybody has put into it.”
Even with the new changes, students are benefiting from opportunities like 12 AP courses, a new partnership with the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, and plans to partner with Penn-West.
