ALTOONA – A DuBois couple is jailed in Blair County after allegedly robbing two stores this week with their infant child in the car.

State Police report that Joseph Mazza and Amber Herren have been charged with robbery, conspiracy, theft, and child endangerment.

Mazza and Herren are accused of robbing a tobacco store in Altoona and a general store along the Tyrone Pike within two hours Monday morning.

Police say Mazza used a handgun when demanding money in both robberies.

When State Troopers stopped the suspects’ vehicle shortly after the second robbery, more than $5,000 in stolen cash and a handgun was reportedly found.

The couple’s infant child was in the back seat of the vehicle.

Bail for Mazza was denied while Herren’s bail was set at $50,000.

Both are being held in the Blair County Prison.
