DUBOIS — A guilty plea to charges of theft and deceptive business practices by a DuBois contractor will cost the 57-year-old man more than $12,000 in restitution.

According to court documents, Joseph Manners was accused of taking payments from three different customers in 2021 and 2022, but he never performed or completed the work while he was in business as Jack’s HVAC of DuBois.

In addition to paying back a total of $12,400 to his customers, Manners will also pay $500 in fines, and serve two years of probation.

The plea agreement was accepted in Clearfield County Court last week.
