DuBois Clarifies Public Comment Rules at Council Meetings

DUBOIS – DuBois City officials are clearing up confusion over public comments at council meetings.

DuBois City Manager Joe Fleming told us that only city residents and taxpayers may speak during the public comment portion of city meetings, a change council made in April.

“Technically, under the law, it’s for comments,” explained Fleming. “So that the intent and purpose of that is to ensure that the citizens are heard to make sure that their voice is heard without the interruption of any speaker.”

Fleming added that while your question may not be answered you can still contact council members or City Hall with questions outside of meetings.
