DuBois City Police: unlocked vehicles broken into overnight Friday/Saturday

DuBois, PA – On Saturday, the DuBois City Police received its first of multiple reports of vehicles being broken into overnight on Love Street.

The vehicles were all unlocked overnight and multiple items were taken from the vehicles. The investigation continues.

Police want to remind everyone to make sure they lock the doors to their vehicles.

At 1:39 a.m., the DuBois City Police received a report of criminal mischief. A male juvenile reported that his ex-girlfriend damaged and destroyed numerous items that belonged to him. The incident is under further investigation and charges could be pending.

At 4:09 a.m., the DuBois City Police received a report of a stolen bicycle. The male victim advised police that he rode his bike to work and placed it in the bike rack at his workplace on Tom Mix Dr. He stated that when he got off work, he went outside and the bicycle was gone. The case is under further investigation.

At 5:33 a.m., the DuBois City Police were dispatched to a business for the report of a hit and run. Upon the arrival of police, a male victim advised police that a female co-worker struck his vehicle with her vehicle and then left the scene. The accident was captured on video and charges may be pending.

At 9:24 a.m., the DuBois City Police were dispatched to a business on DuBois St. for an automatic burglar alarm going off. Upon the arrival of police they were able to determine that everything was secure.

At 11:03 a.m., the DuBois City Police received its first of multiple reports of vehicles being broken into overnight on Love St. The vehicles were all unlocked overnight and multiple items were taken from the vehicles. The investigation continues and police want to remind everyone to make sure they lock the doors to their vehicles.

At 11:46 a.m., the DuBois City Police were dispatched to a residential Burglar Alarm going off at a residence on the 300 block of S. Main St. Upon the arrival of police, they made contact with the owner and found everything to be okay.

At 11:50 a.m., the DuBois City Police were dispatched to a residence on Luther Ave. for the report of a female yelling. Upon the arrival of police, they made contact with the female who was inside her vehicle smoking marijuana. Upon a further investigation the female stated that she and her boyfriend got into a verbal argument. She stated that he then left the residence and was no longer there. Charges are pending on the female for the drug violations.

At 7:19 p.m., the DuBois City Police were dispatched to a hit and run accident that occurred on Susquehanna St. A ford Esacpe was parked legally on the roadway when it was backed into by a white Chevrolet Silverado. Witnesses stated that the Silverado left the scene and was last seen on W. DuBois Ave. After completing their investigation and receiving the statements from the witnesses, police were able to find the owner and driver of the Silverado. Multiple traffic citations were filed against the driver of the Silverado for the traffic violations.
