DuBois City Police, PennDOT remind drivers to share road with pedestrians


DUBOIS – DuBois City Police and PennDOT joined for together Tuesday to remind drivers to share the road with pedestrians.

DuBois Police discussed recent crashes involving pedestrians in the city and the steps that will be implemented to prevent future accidents during the ongoing Pedestrian Enforcement Wave.

Some of the tips offered for pedestrians include:

Cross only in crosswalks and not between cars.

Look left, right, then left again and keep looking.

Always obey traffic signs and signals.

Watch for turning vehicles at intersections.


Some of the tips offered for motorists include:

Slow down when approaching a crosswalk or intersection.

Yield to pedestrians.

Don’t try to beat the light.

Pedestrians have the right of way.
