DUBOIS – DuBois City Council has been discussing how to use the more than $306,000 in Community Development Block Grant money it will receive this year.

The project which has come to the forefront: Water lines along a portion of West Washington Avenue which are in need of replacement. That project, if approved, would cost more than $253,000. The remaining $55,500 would then be used to finance the administration costs of the Block Grant program including planning, environmental review and advertising.

The money received through the Development Block Grant program must be used to assist low-to-moderate-income families and individuals.
