DuBois, PA – DuBois City Council will be voting tonight on whether to take the first step in a process that could eventually consolidate the City with Sandy Township.
The Sandy Township Supervisors voted last week to approach the City of DuBois about working together as one municipality.
This idea has been brought up many times over the years, and it was officially considered two other times by the city council and township board. However, it was voted down the last time it was debated in 2002.
The first step is finding out if everyone is in agreement about even funding a study to determine the benefits and drawbacks of consolidation.
The DuBois City Council meets on the second and fourth Monday of every month, at 7 p.m. at the DuBois City Building at 16 West Scribner Avenue, DuBois.
