DUBOIS – The process to fire suspended City Manager Herm Suplizio was started with the passage of a resolution Monday night at the DuBois City Council meeting.

By a 3-2 margin, council voted to terminate Suplizio’s employment with the City of DuBois in 30 days. Suplizio and his legal counsel have those 30 days to request a public hearing on the matter. Council members voting in favor of the resolution were Elliot Gelfand, Jennifer Jackson, and Mayor Pat Reasinger. Councilmen Jim Aughenbaugh and Shane Dietz voted “no” on the resolution.

Details were also provided on Suplizio’s pension – a current court injunction is preventing the city from paying him any pension. How much, if any, access Suplizio will have to his pension fund in the future will depend on the outcome of his court case.
