DUBOIS – DuBois City Council has approved the intergovernmental cooperation agreement reached between the city and Sandy Township.
The agreement allows the cross-hiring of Shawn Arbaugh as City and Township Manager, and Chris Nasuti as City and Township Engineer.
The Sandy Township Board of Supervisors still needs to approve the measure to make it official.
The topic of bonuses paid to city employees the past 15 years was also discussed at Monday’s meeting.
A DuBois resident claimed that suspended City Manager Herm Suplizio received bonuses totaling $357,000 over nine years. She contended that Suplizio needs to pay the money back to DuBois taxpayers.
DuBois Interim Solicitor Thomas Breth said that records indicate that bonuses were paid to employees prior to 2014. Breth noted that the largest concern is finding why the system broke down.
