DUBOIS – Soon when you go through the City of DuBois things will look a little different.

Recently the city received a $4,000 dollar grant from Giant to plant upwards of 50 trees within the city.

As a stipulation of the grant, the trees must be planted on public land and native to the area.

According to the City of DuBois Mayor Patrick Reasinger, the city is going to start in Downtown DuBois.

“We’re going to have 18 trees go up on Maple Avenue and probably eight or ten on Main Street,“ explained Mayor Reasinger. “We’re also going to put some in the park, trees in the park. And then downtown we have a plan to put containers, and trees, and flowers, and stuff. Something big and actually noticeable, so we’re trying to make the town look a little better.”

The Mayor also stated that he is looking to demolish dilapidated buildings to help with the beautification process.
