DuBois –

The DuBois / Sandy Township Joint Board recently announced plans to build a new, larger fire station to serve as the firefighting headquarters in the city of DuBois.

Those plans received a big financial boost Friday when it was revealed that a $900,000 grant from the state’s Office of the Budget’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program was approved to help fund the purchase of land, and begin construction of the state-of-the-art station.

The facility will have meeting rooms, bunk rooms, day facilities, apparatus bays and a training room.
