DUBOIS – The 2025 proposed budget for the city of DuBois will see some notable changes, including an increase to water and sewer rates.

In the most recent public hearing for the proposed budget, residents expressed concern over the proposed price increase over the two rates.

In the proposed budget water and sewer rates are expected to go up by two dollars per thousand gallons, with a total increase of around $514,000 dollars a year.

Concerned individuals spoke out on the 13.4 percent increase to sewer rates, and 23.5 percent increase for water, claiming that this impact was caused because of consolidation.
