Drive-by parade for Brock Roy’s last chemo on Friday

DuBois, PA – It’s a particularly special Make-A-Wish week for 10-year-old Brock Roy, as he is finally wrapping up his chemotherapy treatments.

Brock was diagnosed with cancer about three years ago, and two years ago he got his one true wish from Make-A-Wish for he and his family to swim with dolphins.

And as much as Brock loved that experience, I think he might love this next experience later this week a little more…

This Friday is his last chemo.

There’s going to be a drive-by parade as Brock gets back into town. Please help Brock and his family celebrate on Friday by lining the route home with people holding posters and balloons.

You can honk your horn as they pass, and I am sure once they see you they will be honking their horn as well. They will be in a big white suburban.

Jeana Roy, Brock’s mom, shared that they will probably be hitting New Bethlehem around 3:30, and hit Brookville around 4:00. They will come up 28 and turn onto main street. They will then get on the interstate at the Hazen exit and come to DuBois. They will get off the interstate at the Falls Creek exit and be on the DuBois Boulevard around 4:30. The plan is for them to go down the Boulevard and go through Downtown DuBois and over the Sandy Bridge.

Please practice social distancing, and make your posters, bring balloons, etc so that we can help the Roy family celebrate this answered prayer. Brock is cancer free!

Brock’s family with the Roy’s Floor Show also donated $500 to Make-A-Wish this year, because they know first-hand how much a wish can mean to a family.

Listen to the interview with Brock Roy, Jeana Roy, and Make-A-Wish director Lacy Bair. Brock Roy, now 10 years old, was diagnosed with cancer about three years ago. Two years ago, he got his wish of swimming with dolphins. Now in 2020, Brock is having his last chemotherapy treatment!
