Downtown Clearfield Building to be Demolished

CLEARFIELD – It used to be home to the Brody’s ladies fashion store, but an abandoned building in downtown Clearfield is now being torn down.

The former home of the popular Brody’s clothing shop has sat empty for years, continues to deteriorate, and became an eyesore and possible health hazard.

The Mayor of Clearfield, Mason Strouse, said demolishing the building will allow for the construction of a new business or the development of a pocket park. Strouse noted that either decision will be a positive move for the borough.

Officials say demolition of the building could take a few weeks.
