PUNXSUTAWNEY – DNA evidence found on an envelope, and handwriting analysis of a “love note” has led to the arrest of a Jefferson County man.

According to court documents, 41-year-old Joshua Riggie of Punxsutawney was charged last week with the sexual abuse of a teenage girl at a Gaskill Township residence over a four-year period. The victim reportedly came forward with allegations against Riggie nearly three years ago. Police investigated a note sent to the victim and discovered that the handwriting matched Riggie’s, and the DNA on the seal of the envelope matched Riggie’s DNA.

Riggie awaits a preliminary hearing in the Jefferson County Jail. His bail is set at $120,000.
