That’s the idea behind Dinner in the Dark, a joint effort by Soul Platter Cafe and the Reitz Theater this Saturday.For a donation of $8, you get a unique immersive dinner experience, a four-course meal either served in a darkened room or while blindfolded!Stop by Soul Platter Cafe on West Scribner Avenue in DuBois anytime between 4 and 7 p.m. this Saturday for an unforgettable experience.After, you’re encouraged to see Wait Until Dark, a thriller involving a blind woman who gets the best of the criminals who are after her. She turns off the lights, leaving them literally in the dark, and her with advantage. Tickets are $13 for adults, $11 for students and senior citizens. Lisa Rutherford, who is acting as a director for this show, played the lead role, Susy. She says she got advice from a blind man she met at the YMCA, who taught her how to act blind on-stage… so effectively that many people in the audience believed that she was truly blind!Chuck Lukens also returns after 20 years away from DuBois for the same role he played then… the lead villain, Roat.Listen to the full interview with Lisa Rutherford and Chuck Lukens, which was aired a week prior to opening night.The opening night gal on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, will feature Valentine treats courtesy of North Crate & Co. A deadly game of cat and mouse ensues.
