Clearfield, PA – Clearfield Borough Police are giving more details about a burglary in Clearfield last Wednesday.
A witness reportedly reported a burglary in progress on McBride Street, where they saw a man walk on a porch and force his way through the front door. That man was later identified as Robert Passmore Jr., who had apparently just been discharged from Penn Highlands hospital.
Hospital security staff also responded, and they were able to get Passmore to come out of the house and stand on the porch until police could arrive.
It’s unclear why he was attempting to break into that specific home or why he went to commit the burglary right after he left the hospital.
Passmore faces felony charges from burglary and criminal trespass, along with multiple other misdemeanor charges.
He’s being housed in the Clearfield County Jail to await his preliminary hearing, unable to post $50,000 monetary bail.
