Details of crash on snowy I-80 Thursday in Clarion County

Richland Township, PA – More details are coming out about the crash involving at least nine vehicles, including five tractor-trailers, that happened on Interstate 80 in Clarion County on Thursday shortly after it had snowed.

Thankfully, all drivers and passengers involved had either no injuries or only minor injuries.

A 26-year-old Allentown man lost control of his Chevy Colorado near mile marker 44 on I-80 just after 6 a.m. last Thursday.

As he spun into the other lane, it caused eight other vehicles to crash into one another.

The crash involved 26-year-old William Maury from Allentown, 23-year-old Zachery Byerly from Brookville, 28-year-old Derek Kerr from Brookville, 26-year-old Paul Olsakovsky from Rockton, 40-year-old Brian Bleggi from Wilcox, 55-year-old Jack Overbeck from Brockway, 57-year-old Richard Stiner from Clearfield, 62-year-old John Aaron from Mayport, 49-year-old Kevin Dewitt from Trout Run, 44-year-old Jeremiah George from Muncy, 47-year-old William Davis from Kentucky, and 35-year-old Luke Ruby from Ohio.

Maury, Overbeck, Dewitt, and George had minor injuries. The rest were not injured.

Everyone had been wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash.
