UNDATED – The Pennsylvania Game Commission has voted to stay on the current firearm deer season.
Lawmakers have considered changing the date to the Saturday before Thanksgiving arguing that this would make hunting more accessible, leading to an increase in license sales.
After hearing major opposition, the commission voted to reject the proposal 6-3.
Firearm deer season begins on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
