Daughter allegedly steals nearly $50,000 from mother’s bank account

BROOKVILLE – A 70-year-old Brookville woman is reportedly the victim of her daughter stealing nearly $50,000.

Brookville Police have charged 39-year-old Amy Mace with 63 counts of forgery, as well as theft and financial exploitation of an older adult.

Mace is alleged to have withdrawn large amounts of money from her mother’s bank account over a two year period.

Investigators say that Mace has admitted in interviews to forging checks and using an online account to withdraw money.

The total amount of money Mace is accused of taking from her mom without permission is $48,705.

The preliminary hearing in Jefferson County Magisterial Court is scheduled for September 12th.
