DUBOIS – January is Board of Directors month for the DuBois Area School District, so at Thursday night’s meeting each board member was presented with a certificate of service. Superintendent Wendy Benton honored Mark Gilga for more than nine years of service. Both Sam Armagost and Robert Wachob have each served six years as board members.
Two years ago, the school district invested $42,000 of it’s American Rescue Plan ESSER funds into purchasing new musical instruments. Superintendent Benton reported that the final 14 trumpets were delivered this week, completing the addition of more than 100 new instruments, amps, mobile equipment, mixer carts, synthesizer carts, portable sound systems, and various supplies for the music department.
A $75,000 grant has been approved to support the DuBois Area School District’s dual enrollment agreement program with six institutes of higher education. The money is expected to help alleviate financial burdens for at least 45 DuBois students who are participating in dual enrollment courses.
