CURWENSVILLE – A Curwensville man is behind bars after an alleged domestic assault last Friday.
State Police initially received reports of the alleged assault at Penn Highlands Clearfield Emergency Department.
The female victim had visible injuries including bruising, cuts, scrapes, and an eye swollen shut.
She told troopers that 40 year-old Jeffery Gearhart was intoxicated and the two got into a verbal argument when he tried to leave.
The victim then took his keys so he could not drive, after that he allegedly shoved her to the ground and began hitting, and kicking her multiple times.
Gearhart then took the keys and fled with their two children.
He is now being held at the Clearfield County Jail with an October 16th preliminary hearing.
