Criticism Grows Over State Guide Missing Local Attractions

UNDATED – A state tourism guide meant to showcase all of Pennsylvania is drawing some criticisms for leaving out parts of our region.

State Representative Mike Armanini says that areas north of I-80, including places you may have visited, were largely left out of the publication.

He says this means events like the Chainsaw Rendezvous and Elk Expo were not included, which both bring in thousands of people.

That is the world’s largest one location chainsaw carving event and it’s really amazing what these artists can do with a, quote, log,” explained Armanini.

He went on to say that this could lead to less tourism and money flowing into local communities and businesses.

Armanini currently plans to follow up with the State Tourism Department this week.
