Crash in Bell Township causes property damage; under investigation

Punxsutawney, PA – A crash in Bell Township on Saturday is currently under investigation.

It was reported to the Pennsylvania State Police of Punxsutawney that a crash involving a 2005 Dodge Caravan had occurred that afternoon on TB42 (Marvin Street), a 2-lane highway without usable berms.

The driver, a 43-year-old man from Punxsutawney, was attempting to return to his residence on Marvin Street when he failed to negotiate a right curve in the roadway. The vehicle then traveled off the side of the roadway and struck two mail boxes; damaging them. The driver then continued 200 yards to his residence. He allegedly was not wearing his seat belt.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash and the mail box owners were notified of the damage.

The investigation continues into what caused the driver to lose control on the roadway.
