Cracking Down on “Ghost Student” Fraud

UNDATED – A new bill is cracking down on “ghost student” fraud.

Introduced by Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson, this new bill would put pressure onto colleges to verify if you’re the one actually applying, not a scammer using your identity to enroll in classes and take federal financial aid.

With nearly 90 million dollars in aid going to these “ghost students” this bill would require schools to verify student identities before handing out that aid.
