DUBOIS – A motion was made at last night’s DuBois City Council meeting to end the city’s contract with Solicitor Toni Cherry.

Councilwoman Shannon Gabriel made that motion ….

However, the motion did not receive a second, so it did not move on for a vote.

Gabriel followed up with another motion to appoint Interim City Manager, Chris Nasuti as the Right to Know Officer for the City of DuBois.

That motion was seconded and approved unanimously by City Council.

During the public comment section of the meeting, Jennifer Jackson spoke about a stack of cash that was allegedly brought to the City Building by Solicitor Toni Cherry in the amount of $100,000 from the DuBois United Way.

Chris Nasuti confirmed that a cash was received, and was immediately deposited …

In other business at the Monday meeting, DuBois City Police Chief, Blaine Clark, gave an update for the Drug Task Force and K9 Unit.

The group was formed last July and has already made 49 drug arrests.

There are 30 other pending cases.
