
Clearfield – A contractor pleaded guilty Tuesday to taking tens of thousands of dollars from a Clearfield County couple for a home improvement project he never started.
According to court documents, 36-year-old Gregory Deangelo was paid $33,500 in October 2020, and another $24,000 in November 2020 by the Madera couple.
The only work completed was the digging of a trench on the couple’s property.
Deangelo was sentenced to 10 years of probation, an immediate restitution payment of $30,000, another $8,000 payment by the end of October, and then payments of $1,000 per month starting in November.
Court documents also revealed that Deangelo is on probation in Blair County for retail theft.
