Consolidation: Where Things Stand

DUBOIS – The clock is ticking, as we are only 138 days away from the official consolidation of DuBois and Sandy Township.

So where do things stand, the municipality’s Managers along with legal advisor from McNee Wallace have reported to the Joint Board Wednesday Night that day-to-day operations are on track, with one major win with the transfer of water systems.

While there is still plenty to do including new contracts, rewriting critical policies, and working on the sewage systems, work is being done daily to move us closer to consolidation.

“We’re cognizant of these many little things that we’re working on from something as big as code consolidation to as minor as consolidating the email systems,“ Explained Manager Ben Kafferlin.

The start of a new chapter takes hold on January 6th 2026.
