DUBOIS – The Consolidation of the City of DuBois and Sandy Township is less than a year away, as we approach that deadline we are having our Consolidation Countdown, giving you all of the information you need to know.
This month we spoke to Jodi August with the Greater DuBois Chamber of Commerce on what she believes consolidation will do for the local economy and for businesses.
While the chamber looks at an area bigger than DuBois alone, August sees healthcare and manufacturing as an ever growing industry, we must also accept other new technologies.
“Education has changed,“ explained August. “Technology has changed. And agriculture has changed. Those three industries have changed so much because of technology and because of what we’ve already gone through.”
In the end, she believes that we need to let change happen to allow an influx of new businesses to our area.
