DUBOIS – In less than three months the City of DuBois and Sandy Township will consolidate into one community, as we approach that deadline we are having our Consolidation Countdown, giving you all of the information you need to know.
We spoke with Police Chief for Sandy Township and the City of DuBois Kris Kruzelak who told us that officers from both Sandy Township and DuBois have been operating out of the same location for several months, acting as a single unit.
“Ever since I was an officer with Sandy Township, we always talked about merging the departments and consolidating,“ explained Chief Kruzelak. “It’s exciting.”
With hopes of having 31 officers for the new City of DuBois, consolidation also allows a larger budget for our local officers to engage in more training opportunities, ultimately creating a safer DuBois.
