DUBOIS – A new committee is being formed to combat blight and usher in beautification in the City of DuBois.
All of this is on the heels of the city receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars in grant monies to combat blight and dilapidated homes in the city. In addition to trees being planted city-wide and tree pots being placed in the downtown area.
DuBois Mayor Pat Reasinger has expressed his disappointment with the pots, and may possibly move them in the springtime, he would also like to create a beautification committee to give their thoughts on future endeavors.
“We’re doing blight, we’re doing trees, and pots with flowers and trees in them and everything like that,“ explained Mayor Reasinger. “And I just think that should be done better with a committee. They can give recommendations to council.”
The mayor went on to say that the committee is looking for three more to join, if you are interested you can find out more on the city’s website or email the Mayor directly.
